Serve this crispy bacon with hard-boiled eggs, French toast or fluffy pancakes. You can also chop it and use it in my broccoli salad recipe.
If you ever fried bacon in the pan, you know the mess it makes. Splatter on the stove and everything around it can be frustrating. No more! I started cooking bacon in the oven and never looked back! It’s a mess-free, hands-off method and the bacon still comes out crispy every time. You can serve it for breakfast or as a salad topping, in sandwiches or burgers!
How to Cook Bacon in the Oven?
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Line a large baking sheet (or two) with parchment paper. I don’t recommend aluminum foil.

How long should bacon be cooked in the oven?
That depends on the thickness of the bacon strips. The thinner, the faster it cooks. The thick-cut bacon may need up to 20 minutes.
Best tips for crispy Bacon Cooked in the Oven:
- do not over-crowd the baking pan or the bacon won’t be crispy;
- use parchment paper for easy clean up; I don’t recommend aluminum foil as the bacon tends to stick to it;
- the thicker the bacon, the longer the cooking time; adjust accordingly;
- save the bacon grease and use it in place of oil in other dishes.
